Weight Watchers- Week 1

Last Friday I signed up for Weight Watchers Online.  Alice just turned 5 months and I figured I can't really use that "I just had a baby" excuse anymore.

This week I lost 1.5lbs.  It doesn't seem like much when I think about how much I need to lose to be a healthy weight but it's a start :)

Happy Fall Y'all

Living is Southern Georgia, I consider the beginning of fall to be when I can walk to the mailbox and back without sweating like a sinner in church, sitting next to the preacher's wife.  In anticipation of that day, I have been doing a few little crafty things to add a little touch of fall around the house (hey, "If you build it, they will come"... right?)

I have seen all kinds of tutorials for fabric pumpkins... and right now, my 2-year-old is going through a little bit of a pumpkin fetish... so I had to make a few:

Then I took an old canister I had laying around... painted it heirloom white...added a fabric bow and some vintage lace... stuck some flowers in it and now I have a pretty little floral arrangement that makes my heart smile

My front door looks pretty pitiful.  It is all beat up, and until I can decided what color I want to paint it, I decided to make a wreath that will hopefully distract guests' eyes from the ugly door.

Elizabeth decided to get in on the action too.  We were at the store and saw these little pumpkins and she just HAD to have one.  She colored all over it and then we put it outside for everyone to see.

What have you done to get ready for fall?

I am linking up here :)

Elizabeth's Room Reveal

Well... I'm actually not quite done...but if I waited until I was "done" then you would never get to see it.  I am always coming up with new ideas and changing things up.  I blame this on my dad.  I was a military brat and we moved all the time... so now I can't stand for things to be the same for to long.  I love change :)

By the way... please forgive the terrible pictures.  It seems like anytime I think to take picture it is dark outside.

Here is her boring crib.  I was going to paint it red but Miss E decided that she was ready for a big girl bed, so we are now searching for one for CHEAP.  (I will let you know how that goes)

These are some shelves I got for $1 at a local thrift store.  The creepy doll on the bottom is Whitney.  I have had her since I was a baby- don't hate :)
This is the mirror that went with Chase's dresser that he has had since he was in the 5th grade.  I gave it a little make-over and now it's in Miss E's room.

Close up of the wreath I made her.  The bunting is made from the same fabric I am making her quilt out of.

Another wreath close-up

Don't know why this picture's color looks so weird... but it's 1 am and I don't want to go back and change it.

Miss E in her reading nook.  May-may got her that chair and she LOVES it.

This is what her room usually looks like :)

BBQ Bacon Burgers

This recipe was inspired by my hubby.  I stole one of his recipes and made it my own :)  This is my version.

-1lb. ground beef (I use 97% lean... don't worry... with all of the other awesomeness in this burger, it won't be dry)
-3 slice of thick bacon, cooked nice and crispy
-1 or 2 green onions, chopped
-1/2 cup of shredded sharp cheddar
-2 cloves of garlic (I shred mine on a cheese grater, but you can finely chop yours... I just don't like biting into chunks of garlic)
-3 Tablespoons BBQ sauce
-1/2 Teaspoon fresh ground pepper
-1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

Mix everything up and grill those bad boys up and then smother them with more BBQ and veggies of your choice.  YUM
